In the wake of recent racial turmoil in the United States, the mayor of the city of Birmingham, Alabama, William A. Bell, together with the Dean of the Beeson Divinity School, Rev. Dr. Timothy George, and H. Exc. Msgr. Robert J. Baker, Bishop of the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama, organised a meeting to offer a possible pathway to dialogue and harmony for the future.
A conversation to reflect on race relations in the United States among its black and white citizens, an effort to foster light and hope where darkness and despair may prevail.
The event was held on March 3-4, 2016, at Beeson Divinity School, located on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham.
His Eminence Card. Peter Turkson sent a Message of encouragement.
